The majority of the market participants implement the recommendation

The persistent "avian influenza" presents many keepers of laying hens considerable losses in sales and earnings. In order to support the producers of free-range animals, the Association for Controlled Alternative Animal Husbandry (KAT), together with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Christian Schmidt, has set up a fast and practicable solution for the labeling and printing of eggs from hens out of free-range rearing after the end of the 12-week period. In an article of February 23, 2017, the newspaper "Die WELT" takes KAT's commitment positively and provides further information on the current status of avian influenza and its consequences.
